Meet the Team

We’re a friendly and experienced team of physiotherapists, all certified by the Health & Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. We also offer nutrition services with an AfN registered nutritionist.

Meet James Collinge, our director and lead clinician. After completing an undergraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Therapy, he went on to complete two master’s degrees in Physiotherapy and Strength & Conditioning, creating broad foundations to his philosophies of assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation from injury. For over more than 10 years James has been fortunate enough to support many professional athletes from a variety of sports; from Rugby Union with Team GB Sevens, England U20s and Sale Sharks; Rugby League with Leeds Rhinos and Football with Leeds United Academy. 

Alongside working full-time as a physiotherapist in elite sport, he has always maintained his commitments to private practice, regularly treating patients with recreational, occupational, and everyday life-stressors leading to injury. James delivers his unique insights and experience working with numerous athletes in different sports to every patient journey, ensuring the restoration of pain free function and the most effective return to sport or work.

Meet Alex, our women’s health, and Pilates specialist. Alongside her commitments to private practice, she works as a senior physiotherapist in the NHS as part of the Women and Children Team. Her role requires her to treat a varied caseload of ante-natal and post-natal patients presenting with pelvic health related issues, post-surgical management following C-section and paediatric populations suffering from musculoskeletal issues. She is qualified in matwork and pre/post -natal Pilates from the APPI and regularly uses reformer Pilates as part of her practice.

Prior to completing her master’s degree in Physiotherapy, Alex studied Sports & Exercise Science at undergraduate level and has a background in elite sport representing England in Netball. She incorporates this additional knowledge in her management of sporting injuries back to performance for her private patients in clinic.

Meet Emily our Registered Nutritionist who also holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology & Nutrition. After starting out studying Sport and Exercise Science, she quickly learnt her true passion was nutrition. She went on to specialise in this area completing research on carbohydrate and fat use in endurance athletes.

Emily has been a Lecturer in Nutrition for 3 years and has worked as a nutritionist with Science in Sport, PhD Nutrition and British Cycling. Previously she has also worked for the UK’s leading Eating Disorder charity, Beat. She thrives of making nutrition information engaging, exciting and accessible to all with the aim of providing knowledge to empower others to make their own informed decisions about nutrition that result in lasting lifestyle changes.

Ben brings a decade of experience as a physiotherapist in full-time professional sport working for Team GB and in Rugby League with the England youth programme, Leeds Rhinos, and Castleford Tigers. For the last 6 years he has occupied lead medical positions within GB Taekwondo and Huddersfield Giants Rugby League. His role requires him to deliver the most effective musculoskeletal care possible to his athletes and consider a broad range of potential therapy options that may assist in a patients recovery from injury.

Ben has an extensive portfolio of postgraduate qualifications, achieving masters level certificates in strength & conditioning, applied clinical anatomy, injection therapy and independent prescribing of medicines, all whilst training under Olympic sports physicians. These qualifications allow him to use injection therapy to improve pain, inflammation, and joint function in his athletes in sport and with private patients that he sees regularly in clinic.

Dan thorpe

Meet Dan, our Consultant Sports Physiotherapist. Following a period working with patients in the NHS, he decided to pursue a career working in with athletes in sport. After working with Huddersfield Giants Rugby League, Dan secured a role at Crewe Alexandra F.C leading medical management for their academy. Over the next couple of years he progressed to the role of Head Physiotherapist for the First Team.

Dan found a passion for physiotherapy during his own personal battle with injury which resulted in a long 12-month period of rehabilitation following trauma. His personal insight and professional knowledge now helps him deliver world class care to athletes in an elite sport environment and his patients in a private practice settings. Dan is therefore able to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, with specialities in back pain, the lower limb, return to sport, movement analysis and posture.

Lisa joins us from a long career in sales and business administration. She is responsible for the customer journey and maintaining operational success managing the Invicta clinicians diaries. Lisa is the point of liaison for all new enquiries and existing patients.
